Subdomains and how they work

What is a subdomain?

A subdomain is a prefix that comes before your root domain. Subdomains are often

used to keep users on the same root domain but send them to a different IP address.

Your main / root domain may look something like this: @mobilelocker.com. A

subdomain will look something like @mg.mobilelocker.com.

Why use subdomains?

Mobile Locker uses subdomains to protect the main domains of our clients' bad sender

reputations, and this also allows the end recipient to recognize the sender. Nonetheless,

Senders should always use the best email-sending practices to avoid any bad sender

reputation, whether in the main domain or subdomain.

How do replies work while using a subdomain?

While using the subdomain within Mobile Locker, your email will be sent from a

subdomain, but any reply that a recipient sends will automatically be sent to the user's

original email address. Example: email sent from Jordan@mg.mobilelocker.com, and all

replies to said email will be returned to the root domain Jordan@mobilelocker.com.
