How to Scan a Badge at Your Event
This guide will walk you through scanning event badges using the Mobile Locker app on your device.
Steps to Scan a Badge
Open the app on your iPad or iPhone
Tap the More button (bottom navigation)
Select Congresses
|
|
Choose your event (e.g., " Mobile Locker 2026")
|
|
Tap Scan a Badge
|
|
When you scan a badge for the first time, a camera permission prompt will appear. Please click "Allow" to grant Mobile Locker access to your camera, which is necessary for scanning barcodes and QR codes.

Point your camera at the badge QR code or barcode

The app will automatically scan and register the badge.
A record will appear with all the badge information. In addition, enriched attendee information will provide additional customer insights based on the scanned email address.
|
|
If your CRM is integrated with Mobile Locker, you can save this as a CRM contact by toggling the Save to Salesforce option. Note: The toggle updates with your CRM name.
To save the attendee's information, tap the Save button.

|
Your attendee has been added and can be viewed in the Events tab.
Troubleshooting: Camera Not Opening
If the camera doesn't open when you tap "Scan Badge," try these solutions:
Solution 1: Check Camera Permissions
- Go to your iPhone Settings
- Scroll down to Apps and find Mobile Locker

- Toggle the Camera ON.

Solution 2: Reinstall the App
If checking permissions doesn't work:
- Delete the app:
- Press and hold the Mobile Locker app icon
- Tap Remove App → Delete App
- Reinstall from App Store:
- Open the App Store
- Search for "Mobile Locker"
- Tap Get to download and install
- Sign back in and grant camera permission:
- When you first try to scan a badge, iOS will ask for camera permission
- Tap Allow when prompted
Note: Reinstalling the app will reset the camera permission, allowing you to grant access again through the iOS permission flow.
Different App Layout After Update?
If your app looks different after a recent update but scanning still doesn't work:
- Take a screenshot of what you see when you tap "Scan Badge"
- Contact Mobile Locker support with the screenshot
- Include:
- Your device model (e.g., iPhone 14 Pro)
- iOS version (Settings → General → About → Software Version)
- App version (visible in More → About)
Still Having Issues?
If you've tried the above steps and still can't scan badges:
- Take a screenshot of the screen when you tap "Scan Badge"
- Contact support with:
- Your screenshot
- Device information (model and iOS version)
- Description of what happens when you try to scan
Our support team will help resolve the issue.
