How to Take a Screenshot on an iPad or iPhone
Taking a screenshot lets you capture exactly what's on your screen. The steps vary slightly depending on your device model. Follow the guide below to find the right method for your device.
📱 iPhone
iPhone with Face ID (iPhone X and later)
- Press and hold the Side button (right side of the device)
- Simultaneously press the Volume Up button (left side)
- Release both buttons quickly
- A thumbnail will appear in the bottom-left corner — tap it to edit or swipe it away to save
iPhone with Home Button (iPhone 8 and earlier)
- Press and hold the Side button (or Top button on older models)
- Simultaneously press the Home button
- Release both buttons quickly
- A thumbnail will appear in the bottom-left corner — tap it to edit or swipe it away to save
📲 iPad
iPad with Face ID (no Home button)
- Press and hold the Top button

All screenshots are automatically saved to your Photos app under:

After taking a screenshot, tap the thumbnail that appears in the bottom-left corner to:

- Share it via email, text, or other apps
- Save it to your Photos library
