Content Caching

Content Caching helps your team open presentations and folders faster. Mobile Locker keeps a ready-made list of the content each person can see. The iOS, Windows, and Android apps, and the Content Library, load that list instead of building it from scratch every time.

Who manages this? You do not turn Content Caching on or off. Mobile Locker staff manage it for your team. There is no switch for this in the administrator menus.

Why it is valuable

Each person on your team can see a different set of presentations and folders. Building that list from scratch takes time, especially when you have many people or many presentations.

With Content Caching, Mobile Locker already has that list ready. People then see:

  • Faster loading in the iOS, Windows, and Android apps
  • Faster loading in the Content Library

The benefit is largest on teams with many users, many presentations, or both.

Who manages Content Caching

Content Caching is a team setting. Only Mobile Locker staff can turn it on or off.

You do not need to configure anything for your team to use it.

After you change content

When you change content or who can see it, Mobile Locker updates the ready-made list for each person on the team. Examples include:

  • Create, replace, activate, or deactivate a presentation
  • Change a folder or who can open it
  • Change a group or group access to content

On a large team, this update can take a few minutes. Your save still succeeded. The lists that the apps and the Content Library use are catching up.

If you refresh right away

You might still see the old list in the Content Library or in a mobile app. Wait a few minutes, then refresh again.

If you do not see a change yet

  1. Wait a few minutes, especially if your team has many users or many presentations.
  2. Refresh the Content Library in the browser.
  3. In the iOS, Windows, or Android app, refresh or sync as you normally do.

You do not need to upload the file again. The change is already saved. The ready-made lists need a short time to catch up.

What Content Caching does not change

Content Caching speeds up the list of content each person can see. It does not change:

  • How you upload, activate, or organize presentations
  • Who is allowed to see which content
  • How long it takes to download a large file the first time someone opens it
