How to use Contact Scanner on Android
Contact Scanner photographs a badge, card, or other text with a name or contact details (printed or handwritten). The Android app reads text, not faces. Prefer Contact Scanner for new capture. Business Cards is a separate, older product.
Paid add-on. Only Mobile Locker can activate Contact Scanner for your team. If you do not see Contact Scanner under Field (tablet) or More, then Tools (phone), ask your account manager.

Open Contact Scanner
- On a phone, tap More, then open the Tools list. Under Field, tap Contact Scanner.
- On a tablet, open Contact Scanner in the Field group of the rail.
The page title is Contact Scanner. Empty state: No Contact Scans Yet. Tap Scan Now, or the Scan action in the bar.
A hint can say: at a congress, use Congresses, then Scan Attendee, so the lead links to that event.

Scan
- Tap Scan or Scan Now.
- Optional: tap Scan Language so the app reads text in the language you expect. Your choice is saved.
- Tap Scan with Camera (CameraX still capture) or Select from Photos.
- Allow camera (or photos) if Android asks. See camera and notifications permissions in this category.
- Wait while the app shows Uploading image… then Reading text and identifying person…
- Review the result, edit fields if needed, and save.

You need a network connection to identify and enrich a scan.
History
On Contact Scanner you can:
- Search history (Search Contact Scanner history).
- Filter All, Mine, or Others when more than one person on the team has scans.
- Tap Refresh to fetch the latest results from the server.
- Open a row to see detail. Match chips can include Matched, No Match, Multi Match, or Low Info.
On a tablet, if nothing is selected, the detail pane can say Select a Scan.
At a congress
When the person should be an event attendee, open Congresses, open the event, and use Scan Attendee (or Enter Manually). Do not use standalone Contact Scanner for that lead if you need it on the congress list.
Scan Attendee uses the same camera capture, then continues into the attendee form.
