How to Add More Voices on iOS
The Listen feature in the Mobile Locker iOS app speaks a presentation aloud. iOS includes a few voices. You can download more in Settings, then pick one in the Listen sheet.
These steps are for iOS 26 and later. If your iPhone or iPad is on an older version, update iOS before you continue. This article does not cover the voice screens in older versions of iOS.

Before you start
- Use an iPhone or iPad with iOS 26 or later. To check, see How to Check Your iOS Version.
- Connect to Wi-Fi. Voice downloads can be large.
- Enhanced or Premium voices are recommended. They sound clearer than the standard voices.
Download a voice
Open Settings
Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
Open Accessibility
Tap Accessibility.
Open Live Speech
Under Speech, tap Live Speech.
Open Add Preferred Voice
Under Preferred Voices, tap Add Preferred Voice...
A Language sheet opens.
Open the language
Tap the language you want. For example, tap English.
Download the voices
Tap the cloud icon next to each voice you want. Wait until the download finishes. The play button next to a name lets you hear a sample before you download it.
Enhanced or Premium voices are recommended for Listen. In the list, those names include (Enhanced) or (Premium).
Pick the voice in Listen
Return to the Mobile Locker iOS app. Open Listen. The voices you downloaded are available in the Listen sheet. Pick the one you want.
If you use an older iOS version
Update to iOS 26 or later, then follow the steps above. On a company-managed iPhone or iPad, ask your IT department to install the update if you cannot install it yourself.
