Install Mobile Locker on a Mac
On a Mac, install Mobile Locker from the App Store. That is the same app we ship for iPad. It is not the new Windows app, and it is not the previous Desktop app (Electron) that used a .dmg file.
Previous Desktop app for Mac is retired. Do not download a .dmg from app.mobilelocker.com/downloads/mac. That file is the old product. If it is still in Applications, drag it to the Trash after you install from the App Store.
Windows users: Use the Mobile Locker Windows App, not this page.
Before you install
The iPad app on a Mac needs:
- A Mac with Apple silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4, or later). Intel Macs cannot run this app.
- macOS 15.6 or later
- Permission to install from the App Store (some companies block it)
To check the chip: click the Apple menu, then About This Mac. Look for Chip (for example Apple M2). If you see an Intel processor, you cannot use this install path. Ask your administrator or support@mobilelocker.com.
Install from the App Store
- Open the App Store on your Mac.
- Search for Mobile Locker.
- Open the listing from Vorenus Ventures LLC. It is marked Designed for iPad.
- If the main results show only Mac apps, look under iPhone & iPad Apps and open Mobile Locker from there.
- Click Get or Install.
- When it finishes, open Mobile Locker from Launchpad or the Applications folder.
You can also open this link on the Mac. It goes to the same App Store listing: https://app.mobilelocker.com/downloads/ios.
Screenshot needed
Mac App Store search for Mobile Locker, showing the Designed for iPad listing (or the iPhone & iPad Apps section). Apple silicon Mac.
The app runs as the iPad app on macOS. Layout follows iPad, not a separate Mac desktop chrome.
After you install
Sign in and daily use match the iPad app. Use the Mobile Locker iOS app articles, starting with:
- How to Log In to Mobile Locker on iOS
- Install Mobile Locker on iPad or iPhone (same App Store listing, iPhone and iPad steps)
If you cannot install
- Your company may block the App Store. Ask your help desk or Mobile Locker administrator.
- If App Store says the app is not available for this Mac, confirm you have Apple silicon and macOS 15.6 or later.
- Email support@mobilelocker.com if install still fails.
