Build a Template Using Unlayer Editor
Before You Begin.
Before editing with Unlayer Editor, select the correct editor within the Email Template Workspace. For a tutorial on the process, please visit Selecting an Email Editor.
In this tutorial, we will explain the basic features of Unlayer Editor within the Mobile Locker Platform.
Let's start by clicking Email Templates from the Main Navigation Menu.
This page displays Email Templates.
Before making any edits, you can apply a filter in Unlayer to display only the Unlayer email templates.
If you have a smaller number of email templates, you can easily identify which editor was used by checking the details shown here.
Click Options, then Edit Design.
Just like any other email template, this one includes a variety of settings you’ll configure. These include:
- Status and Availability – Control whether the template is active and who can access it.
- User Access – Define which users or teams can use the template.
- Template Details – Enter the name, description, and other relevant information.
- Subject Line – Set the subject line that will appear in the email.
- Custom Tags – Add tags to help categorize and filter templates.
- Additional Settings – Configure other options specific to your organization’s needs
The interface provides multiple ways to work with your email content through different tabs and action buttons.
Design Tab - The Design tab provides a visual, drag-and-drop interface for creating your marketing emails.
HTML tab - The HTML tab allows you to work directly with the email's HTML source code.
JSON tab - The JSON tab displays and allows editing of the email's structured data format.
We also have our Action Buttons.
Save button - saves your work
Sent test button - Sends a test version of your email to specified recipients for review.
Export button - download your email in various formats for external use.
UPLOAD Button - imports JSON configuration files

For this guide, we’ll be using the Design tab as our example.
1. Think of an email body as your canvas.
2. The tiles are your paint.
You can drag and drop Tiles into the Body.
The Content Tile lets you add content to your email.
Blocks are used to break up content.
They are used to structure the body of the email.
You can drag and drop Content into Blocks.
The Body Tile lets you customize the body of your email.
Explore colors, width, alignment, fonts, and links.
Upload graphics and images within blocks to enhance the vibe.
You can use the Cursors to structure the layout of columns and items.
Add new sections by clicking on the + icon.
After saving your changes, you can send a test email to see how it appears.
You can also review the layout in both desktop and mobile formats.
