Best time to email an HCP

When you share a file with an HCP, Mobile Locker can see when they open it. After they have viewed files a few times, the contact page can suggest a best time to email.

This is a suggestion only. You still write and send the message.

Where to find it

Open Contacts and select the person.

The Best time to email card sits on that contact page, above the list of emails, presentations, and file views.

What the suggestion means

The suggestion is based on when that HCP opened files you shared, not on whether they opened an email. Email open tracking is not a reliable way to time a follow-up. See Why email open rates are not reliable.

Mobile Locker looks for a day of the week and a time window when they usually view those files. For example, you might see something like Wednesday and early afternoon.

If a teammate also shared files with the same HCP, those views can count too. You are looking at the person, not only your own shares.

When the card does not appear

The card appears after there are enough file views to make a fair guess (about five). If you do not see it, the HCP has not viewed enough shared files yet. Share again, then check the contact later.

How to read the bars

The top row of bars is days of the week. Taller bars mean more file views on that day.

The bottom row is time of day on the highlighted day.

Click a day to see that day's times. The headline at the top of the card stays the suggested window. Click the same day again to go back.

Times are in your local time

The days and hours on the card match the clock on this device (your laptop or phone). You do not need to convert from UTC or another zone.

If you open the same contact on a computer set to a different time zone, the suggestion can change to match that clock.

It does not send the email for you

Best time to email is a hint for your next follow-up. You still choose the message, the files, and the send time. For how to send, see How to send an email from the browser.
