Check for updates in the Windows app

The Mobile Locker Windows App updates itself. You do not use the Microsoft Store. These steps are not the previous Desktop app sidebar button.

IT-managed PCs. If your company installs Mobile Locker with Intune or another MDM product, public updates may be turned off. Settings then shows: Managed installs may disable public updates (IT policy). Ask IT for the new version. Do not try to sideload Setup unless they tell you to.

Check automatically

Turn on Check for updates automatically if you want the app to look for a new version while you work. If an update is found, the app asks before it downloads.

If the toggle is disabled, your PC is on a managed install. Use the IT path above.

Check now

  1. In Updates, click Check for updates.
  2. If you already have the latest version, the app says you are up to date and shows your current version.
  3. If a newer version exists, you see Update available with the new version and yours. Click Download or Not now.

Download and restart

  1. If you clicked Download, wait for the progress window to finish.
  2. When the files are ready, the app asks Install update: restart Mobile Locker to install it.
  3. Click Restart now to apply the update, or Later to keep working on the current version.

The app restarts after Restart now. Sign in again only if the app asks you to.

If the check fails, the app shows that something went wrong. Try again later, or use Help on the page (question-mark button) and choose Report a Problem.
